US Citizenship Exam Questions and Answers Explained
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) administers the U.S. citizenship test to applicants for naturalization.The U.S. citizenship test is designed to ensure that the applicant has an understanding of the English language, U.S. history and government (civics), and a basic knowledge about the principles of American democracy. The applicant must answer six out of ten questions correctly in order to pass the exam. The naturalization process includes filling out an application form and submitting it with supporting documentation, completing the biometrics, attending an interview at a local USCIS office, and finally taking the oath of allegiance at an official ceremony.

The following 100 questions and answers are for the 2008 Civics Test administered by the USCIS. A USCIS officer may ask up to 10 questions from the list of 100 during the test. In order to pass this test, you must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly.

Reading and Writing Vocabulary for the Citizenship Test.
There are three components to the English test: Reading, Writing, and Speaking. For the Reading and Writing portion, USCIS officer will ask you to read and write up to three sentences. You must read and write at least one out of three sentences correctly to pass the test.
